I am sitting here reading this post with tears in my eyes because I relate. My spouse is living with dark storm clouds over his head because of a similar upbringing and it's draining that he doesn’t want to help himself through storms. We've been through storms where we both rained wet and just about manage to dry, sometimes damp, depends if the Sun comes out or not. I've read to him excerpts from The Superior Man by David Deida which seems to have made the situation worse for him but clearer for me. If there is a way, I will find it, for my own sanity if nothing else. I applaud you for taking on this worthwhile challenge.
