The idea for a guide to MXit has been brewing ever since my interview with Herman Heunis, CEO of MXit Lifestyle (Pty) Ltd in July at their beautiful offices in Stellenbosch. And its strange how I was mentioned in two recent articles, the most recent one can be read here on IOL, and a very similar reading article can be found here on Moneyweb. So this led to a short interview on 567 Cape Talk, Tuesday morning just after 8am news. And that has led to a follow-up scheduled for 7h10am on The John Robbie Show (my 1st time on this one) Thursday, 7 September on Talk Radio 702. Please tune in on their new FM 92.7 frequency if you live in Gauteng or their streaming service here. Please post your comments if you listen to the interview here.
First time: listened to 702 intereview, will come back!
Morning. I heard the show on 702 this morning and thought the parent’s views were correct. We need to be involved parents in this day and age for many other reasons let alone mixit, and the more we know the better we can guide and protect our children. Thank you. I have forwarded your website details to my friends that have this mixit worry.
My 16 year old son uses MXit and I would like to understand more about it and how to monitor it.
Please let me have some info on MXIT.
Thanks
Gordon
I would also like to know how to chat on line & how to subscribe to the service, as a parent.I’ve already applied for the “parents guide”, will I find this info in there?
Nice one, lets get more parents reading this…
I am new to the concept
I listened to your interview on 702 regarding Mxit. I am very interested in obtaining a copy of your directions on how to use this faciliity. I have 2 teenage children who use Mxit constantly.
If you could send me a copy or if on your website and I have missed them, send me basic directions of where to find them, I would be most grateful. Thank you. Vanessa Allan
I never used MXIT just saw my kids “chatting” on-line all the time & it irritated me a bit not knowing about it.Like most parents I’m ignorant concerning this new form of communication. From what I heard on 702 Talk Radio, it can be used in a positive, constructive way.Waiting for your “parents guide” info.
Many Thanks.
William
I would be very interested in the article from the IT education point of view.
Hi, could you pls fwd me a copy of the parents guide. My son is waiting for me to help him chat safely on mixit, and I have no clue, just horror stories. Thanks for this guide!
